Monday, you can get a massage and help Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the process.
The 23 Massage Envy clinics in South Florida are offering free massages, with a suggested donation, to raise money for the foundation, which was created in 1982 to help fight breast cancer. Massage Envy launched the Massage for the Cure campaign three years ago but just expanded it to South Florida this year.
A one-hour massage costs $40 to $80 at the clinics, depending on whether you're part of the membership program, according to Mark Sturman, who owns two Massage Envy franchises in Broward County.
Sturman has a personal interest in the campaign. His sister, Randy Sturman, died in May at age 51. A Hallandale Beach native, she was a former Miami-Dade County assistant state attorney and author of the book, Six Lives in Jerusalem, which concerns end-of-life decisions in Israel.
